Lithopone appears white crystalline powder. It is a mixture of zinc sulfide and barium sulfate. The more zinc sulfide there is,the stronger the hiding power is and the higher the quality is. Density 4.136 ~ 4.34 g/cm3, insoluble in water. Hydrogen sulfide gas is easily decomposed in the case of acid, and does not work in the case of hydrogen sulfide and alkali solution. By the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight 6 ~ 7h into light gray, in the dark is still restored to the original color. Oxidize easily in air, agglomerate metamorphism after damp.

The whiteness and hiding power of Lithopone are stronger than those of zinc oxide, and the refractive index and opacity power are higher than those of zinc oxide and lead oxide, but inferior to titanium dioxide.

Application
Lithopone is mainly used for coloring paint, ink, rubber and so on.
Lithopone is a kind of inorganic white pigment, widely used in polyolefin, vinyl resin, ABS resin, polystyrene, polycarbonate,nylon, polyformaldehyde and other plastics and paint, ink white pigment.
Lithopone has poor effect in polyurethane and amino resins, and is not suitable for fluorinated plastics.
Lithopone is also used for the coloring of rubber products, paper making, lacquer cloth, oilcloth, leather, watercolor pigments,paper, enamel and so on.
Lithopone is used as an adhesive in the production of electric beads.Packaging
